1 Arrested In Connection With Waltham Halloween Fatal Stabbing

Police arrested 33-year-old Waltham man Sunday night about a week after an older man was fatally stabbed in his home on Halloween.

WALTHAM, MA — Police arrested 33-year-old Waltham man Sunday night about a week after an older man was fatally stabbed in his home on Halloween.

In a statement, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Keith MacPherson said they arrested Jonathan Galindo, 33 of Waltham, in connection with the fatal stabbing of Kevin Fitzgerald, 61, on Halloween night.

Authorities said forensic evidence helped investigators identify Galindo. Investigators also said they now believe the two knew each other.

Galindo is charged with murder and is expected to be arraigned in Waltham District Court on Monday.

Shortly after 9 p.m., Waltham Police received a 911 call from Fitzgerald reporting that he had been stabbed in his Alder Street home by a man that he was unable to identify.

Police found the man alone in his home, and first responders rushed him to Newton Wellesley Hospital where he later died.
