2 Charged After Leaving Scene Of Waltham Crash
The accident caused damage to three properties on Crescent Street. One person is charged with operating under the influence.

WALTHAM, MA — Two people face charges after leaving the scene of an accident in Waltham early Monday morning.
Just before 1 a.m., officers on patrol observed a white Volkswagen GTI and a black BMW M340XI traveling "at a high rate of speed" southbound on Crescent Street. Both vehicles crashed moments later into the properties at 395, 397 and 403 Crescent St., causing damage to property and a utility pole.
Three men fled the scene on foot, and a passenger was located and treated for minor injuries.

Officers located the driver of the Volkswagen, an 18-year-old New Hampshire man. He was arrested for possession of ammunition without an FID card, operating under the influence of liquor (first offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and speeding. He was also evaluated by EMTs but declined further treatment.
An investigation led to the identification of the driver of the BMW, a 19-year-old Burlington man, who is being charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and speeding.

Eversource responded to the scene to begin repair work on the pole.
