Bomb Threat At Brandeis University: Shelter-In-Place Lifted
Police finished sweeping campus after someone called in a bomb threat Thursday morning, officials said.

WALTHAM–Campus security and Brandeis University officials have given the "all clear," lifting a campus shelter-in-place order following a reported bomb threat directed to the campus. No bomb was found.
School officials issued an alert just before 11 a.m., telling those on campus to find shelter. Campus police searched the grounds and blocked off the entrance to the campus as helicopters circled for nearly three hours. Officials then sent an "all clear" message and the shelter order was lifted.
"No devices were found," the university said in a statement emailed to Patch.

The threat came as there were some 140 students moving into residence halls. About 660 students have already moved back to campus, according to a spokesperson.
Students who were moving in were temporarily directed away from campus. They resumed moving in after the investigation was complete.

In August 2017, the school received bomb threats that turned out to be a hoax. At the time, the threats forced the university to close for a time. The person convicted of being behind the threats was sentenced in 2018 to 17 years behind bars.
