Carter Street Train Station Lot Gets New Parking Meter System

Paying for parking in the lot may have just got easier, the Waltham officials announced.

(Waltham City Hall)

WALTHAM, MA —Those who park in the Carter Street train station lot and have to go to the pay station, print out the receipt and go back to your car to put it on the dash - well no more. The city just installed a new pay station there that takes that last step out.

Drivers who park there still have to pay, but the new machine takes cash, coin and credit card. Or you can just use the "Pay By Phone" parking app and skip the machine altogether.

You can use the Pay By Phone app in any of the City of Waltham Municipal parking lots. With the app, you can make initial payments, extend parking sessions and pay to park multiple cars all from your phone without having to return to the meter (there is a 25 cent service fee to use the app). You can also enable reminders when your parking is close to ending.
