Vixen is doing well, her owner is thrilled, and donations continue to pour in for this mixed breed pooch.

“Vixen is doing well and her owner, John Cavallo, is thrilled,” says the update on the fundraising site for Vixen, a dog hit by a plow in Waltham, MA, last weekend.

Vixen was badly injured, and needed surgery right away. Just the surgery alone cost in the vicinity of $5,000, and so far, concerned friends and animal lovers have donated $5,900 of the $7,500 requested.

Last week, after the surgery, she was reunited with her owner, Cavallo, reported WHDH-TV.

Cavallo said that Vixen was struck by the plow two weeks ago when she darted from behind a snow bank as Cavallo was returning from picking up a pizza. He heard her yelp, and ultimately collapse. The plow driver did not stop.
