Belmont Savings Bank Announces Themed ‘Switch Saturday’

Waltham branch will spotlight switch campaign with community face painting, prizes

Belmont, MA –Belmont Savings Bank today announced it is holding community events at the Waltham branch inside the Shaw’s on Lexington Street, as well as their Belmont and Watertown branches, as part of an effort to highlight their 60-minute switch guarantee.  Switch Saturday will take place this Saturday, September 15 and will feature a variety of fun activities including door prizes, games and a pet parade.

“Switch Saturday promises to spotlight how easy and painless switching to Belmont Savings really is by demonstrating why thousands have already made the switch,” said Bob Mahoney, President and CEO of Belmont Savings Bank. “We encourage everyone in our community footprint – Belmont, Watertown, Waltham – to stop by one of our participating branches Saturday to see for themselves what this is all about.”

Each branch features its own theme. At the Waltham branch inside the Shaw’s on Lexington Street, there will be door prizes, and face painting as well as a scavenger hunt using Plinko, as seen on The Price is Right. Occurring from 10-5 on Saturday, the Waltham branch promises that “switching banks is a piece of cake with our switch kit!”

The Watertown branch, located at 53 Mount Auburn Street in Watertown Square, is following a duck theme – “Switching banks isn’t as difficult as it’s quacked up to be- our switch kit helps us get your ducks in a row!” In addition to face painting and door prizes from 9-1, the Watertown branch will also sport a duck mascot greeting customers and passersby.

Finally, at the Belmont Center branch, there will be a pet parade starting at 11am where pets and their owners will parade around Belmont Center. Complimentary dog treats to participating canines will be provided. Other activities – for humans – will include a raffle, door prizes and a live DJ playing music during the branch’s open hours, 9-1.“Switching banks can be ‘ruff’ but our switch kit makes it doggone easy!”

Previously, Belmont Savings Bank launched a ‘60-Minute Switch Guarantee’ campaign aimed at encouraging new customers to transfer their bank accounts through an innovative and streamlined process. As part of the campaign, the Bank will complete a customer’s switch –with a simple, easy-to-use ‘switch’ kit– in less than an hour or guarantee prospective customers 60 dollars in their new account.
