(Waltham, MA)— The team from Blondie Salon & Spa will be holding a fundraiser to support The Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund. The Celeste-A-Thon will take place on June 11, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Blondie Salon & Spa, 401 Main Street, Waltham Ma. All proceeds from the Celeste-A-Thon will go to The Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund.
In April of this year, Americans experienced a cutting reminder of the threats of violence and terror that can affect anyone of us at any moment. As many supported and cheered for their loved ones at this year’s Boston Marathon, two bombs blasted through spectator crowds along the sidelines, killing and gravely injuring many. One of those injured was Celeste Corcoran, 47, a hairdresser from Lowell, Massachusetts who was there to support her sister Carmen Accabo who was running the Marathon. Celeste lost both her legs as a result of shrapnel from one of the blasts and is currently receiving therapy. She will be fitted for prosthetic legs that she will wear for the rest of her life.
As a hairdresser ,Celeste’s life was marked by the pleasure and fulfillment she felt everyday helping people look and feel beautiful. Her friends and family will be there to help her recover and get back to doing what she loves and that is why this fundraiser is so important.
