Mosquito Spraying in Waltham on Aug. 2
The spraying is designed to reduce the population of mosquitos.

Spraying for mosquitos will be done on Aug. 2 in several neighborhoods of Waltham.
Spraying will start on Thursday, Aug. 2 at dusk and run until 11 p.m., according to the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project. Spraying will be done in the area of Bacon Street between Totten Pond Road and Plympton Street. Spraying will also be done near Curve Street, Pond End Road and Stanley Road.
Sumithrin, a slightly toxic pesticide used on mosquitos, will be used. The spray, however, does not put people or pets at risk. Residents should stay in their homes if they see a spray truck and close windows facing streets.
