Movie Filming in Waltham Today

Expect traffic delays in the area of Wilson's Diner.

Expect delays on Friday, Aug. 10 near Wilson's Diner on Main Street as film crews are scheduled to shoot scenes from an upcoming film starring Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet.

However, as often happens with film shoots, the filming could be delayed to naother day. For now, however, filming is set for Friday.

Filming for "Labor Day" will impact traffic in the area starting at 8 a.m., according to Waltham Police. Crews will be periodically closing Main Street near the diner for up to five minutes to give crews time to film inside the diner, according to Police Sgt. William Gallant. Motorists will have to use the following detours:

  • Coming from the west down Main Street, drivers will be rerouted down Lyman Street onto School Street wesbound to Lexington Street.
  • Coming from the east on Main Street, motorists will be rerouted onto Appleton Street and then onto Central Street and Newton Street.

Parking will be prohibited in the parts of the area.

Neither Winslet nor Brolin will be in Waltham filming scenes.
