Semi-Finalist Interviews For School Chief Almost Done
Public interviews of finalists to begin after February vacation.

Semi-finalist interviews of candidates for the Waltham Public School superintendent position will be completed next week.
Four additional interviews are scheduled for next week, two each on Tuesday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, Feb. 17, according to search committee chairman Lisa Limonciello, who is also a school committee member. The interviews are being conducted in executive session, as allowed under state law.
Two more closed-door interviews were held this week, and one was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10, according to Limonciello.

The district is searching for a new chief to replace former superintendent Peter Azar, who resigned last year amid a dispute with School Committee members. Assistant Superintendent for Administration Anne Marie Carr-Reardon has been managing the district in the interim.
After semi-finalist interviews are finished, the search committee will forward between three and six finalists to the full school committee for public interviews. The public sessions will begin sometime after the district’s February vacation, according to Limonciello.

So far, the interviews have gone well, Limonciello said.
“Every candidate that has come before us has been OK,” she said. “Some people interview better than others.”
