Waltham 2020 Primary Election Results: Voters Choose Biden
More than 40 percent of registered voters cast ballots Tuesday in Waltham, according to an unofficial city tally.

WALTHAM, MA — More than 40 percent of registered voters cast ballots Tuesday in Waltham, according to an unofficial city tally, and the most primary votes went to former Vice President Joe Biden.
In Waltham, Democratic voters threw their support behind Biden (3,796) followed by Bernie Sanders (3,467) and then Elizabeth Warren (3,376). Michael Bloomberg got 1,229 votes.
In the Republican primary President Donald Trump (1,669) resoundingly defeated Bill Weld (178).

Some 14,521, out of 35,014 registered voters cast ballots Tuesday in Waltham.
"I came to vote because I know it's an important day," said Charles Postell, 27, of Waltham out front of Clark Government Center.

Both he and Mikala Postell,22, said they voted for Bernie Sanders.
"I actually don't want Trump to be in office. He's definitely causing a lot of problems, and I think Bernie Sanders will hopefully turn this around," said Mikala Postell.
Although Fae Madden said she, didn't want to disclose who she voted for, she said she was proud to vote.
"I'm surprised there wasn't a line out the door," she said.
Poll workers told passers by that they, too, were surprised more people weren't showing up during the lunch.
Elena Koumna, 40,who preferred not to share who she voted for, told Patch this election was incredibly important to her, too.
"We're just trying to chose the best person for the job. I feel like our ethical and moral standards are declining. I'm hoping we can get a candidate who can get us back to where we were," she said.
