Waltham Man Faces Firearm Charge After Watertown Stop

Police recovered what they called a "stolen firearm" and ammunition during a traffic stop.

WATERTOWN, MA — A Waltham man is being held in jail after Watertown police recovered what they said was a stolen handgun during a recent traffic stop.

On Jan. 21, police performed a traffic stop on Isaiah Louissaint, 19, of Waltham.

During the stop, which involved five police officers, officials "uncovered that Mr. Louissaint was concealing a stolen firearm." Police also found ammunition in the vehicle.

Louissaint was apprehended and the gun was recovered. Louissaint was arraigned at Waltham District Court on Jan. 22, where he was "deemed dangerous," police said.

He was held on bail after the arraignment.
