Waltham Police Chief's Wife Will Testify for Husband

Waltham Police Chief Thomas LaCroix's trial started Thursday.

The wife of Waltham Police Chief Thomas LaCroix plans to testify on behalf of her husband, according to the Boston Globe. 

Andrea LaCroix, during a brief interview, told the Globe her husband is not guilty of the charges. Thomas LaCroix is facing charges for allegedly attacking his wife and her friend at LaCroix's Maynard home in 2012. LaCroix's trial started Thursday at Concord District Court. 

A jury consisting of eight men and one woman was chosen during Thursday's proceedings. Prosecutors planned to deliver their opening statements this afternoon.

LaCroix is currently on paid leave form the Waltham Police Department and out on supervised release. LaCroix allegedly attacked his wife after accusing her of having an affair.
