Waltham's Gustazo Wins Best Of Boston
Boston Magazine named Gustazo the best take-out places in the suburbs west of Boston for 2020.

WALTHAM, MA — Boston Magazine dubbed Gustazo, the "Cuban Jewel" of Waltham, and named it the best take-out program west of Boston.
The popular Cuban restaurant showed up in Waltham in 2014. Then earlier this year they moved from Main to Moody Street and a larger space. When Gustazo reopened they faced a whole new world of operating a restaurant amid pandemic. But the owners stepped up their take-out menu.
"Break free from your pizza rut with help from this teensy Cuban jewel in Waltham, which combines the warm service of an old-world café with decidedly modern touches—namely, an efficient takeout oper- ation offering dishes that pack a flavorful punch: husky Cubanos, savory empanadas (hot or frozen for later), and plantain chips with an herbaceous cilantro sauce that tastes like summer in a thimble, the magazine lauds. Beer and wine are available to take home, too, so you can wash it all down with a crisp bottle of Muscat."
When the city gave the green light to open up expanded seating on Moody Street this month, Gustavo was right there with them.
