5 Things: A Committee Begins, New Patch Look Coming, and Why 'Wayland'
A few things you need to know on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Wayland.

1. The first meeting of the OPEB Temporary Advisory Committee takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Building. The agenda includes housekeeping tasks such as reviewing the committee's charge and electing a chair as well as a review of historical documents for informational purposes.
2. Also meeting tonight is the Public Ceremonies Committee. It, too, will convene at Wayland Town Building at 7 p.m. The agenda is available online.Â
3. Have you checked out the newest items available at the Wayland Public Library? Take a look at this website, then head over to the library and enjoy the air conditioning while browsing some of the new (and old) items.

4. New Patch site is coming! Just a reminder that a brand new look is coming to Wayland Patch. We'll be rolling out the new platform overnight Wednesday. Bear with us as we make the transition. We think you're really going to like it.
5. Year of Wayland Trivia. In 1835, East Sudbury changed its name to Wayland. While no one know the reason for the change, it is believed that Wayland was named for Rev. Francis Wayland, the president of Brown University.
