More Than A Dozen Roads Closed In Wayland Due To Strong Winds
The Council on Aging/Community Center will be open as a temporary warming center for those without power.
WAYLAND, MA — Down trees, power lines, and flooding have caused multiple road closures in Wayland on Friday afternoon.
Wayland police alerted residents to the following closures and partial closures at 2:45 p.m.:
- Concord Road
- Grove Street
- High Rock Road
- Sherman's Bridge Road (cross: Concord and Oxbow)
- Bow Road
- Joyce Road
- Old Connecticut Path
- Commonwealth Road (Route 30)
- Sherman's Bridge (at the Sudbury Line)
- Sedgemeadow Road
- Plain Road
- Glezen Lane
- Woodridge Road

The town said that Eversource is working with fire, police and public works crews to prioritize tree removal and restore power to the downed lines.
The Council on Aging/Community Center, at 8 Andrew Ave., will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. as a temporary warming center for those without power.
