5 Things: Blueberries for Lauren's Fund, Water Ban, Watercolor Class
A few things you need to know for Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Wayland.

1. It's a special day at the Wayland Summer Farmers' Market. The return of Lightning Bug Blues will bring fresh, Wayland-grown blueberries to the market. Better still, all proceeds from their purchase are going to the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund.
2. With all this rain, you probably aren't thinking about watering your lawn today. Still... just a reminder that Wayland remains under an odd/even water ban right now. Match your house number to the date: odd to odd, even to even to know when you are permitted to water your lawn.
3. You don't have to be Claude Monet to experiment with watercolors. Cecilia Sharma is leading a two-hour watercolors workshop Wednesday at the Wayland Public Library from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. You'll need to register for the class (do that here) and pick up some supplies (check out the list).
4. ICYMI. There were some crazy goings on yesterday for Wayland's fire and police departments. Check out the latest on the trailer fire outside Especially for Pets and a cruiser's gas tank rupture on Draper Road.
5. Year of Wayland Trivia. In 1955, Hurricane Diane destroyed the Old Town Bridge and Stone's Bridge across the Sudbury River. Rather than rebuild them, new causeways and bridges were constructed nearby.
