5 Things: Cheesecake Day, Traffic Reminders, Meeting on a Boat

A few things you need to know in Wayland for Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

1. First things first: It's National Cheesecake Day! Cheesecake Factory celebrates this day by offering customers half-price slices all day. Where is the nearest Cheesecake Factory to Wayland? It;s a toss up: There's one in Natick and one at Chestnut Hill.

2. Traffic reminders: There's a "bottleneck relief trial" going on right now at the 1-90/I-95 interchange in Weston and the Merriam Street bridge at the Silver Hill commuter station in Weston is closed for repairs (the commuter station is open).

3. The Surface Water Quality Committee will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to take place on a boat docked at 120 Lakeshore Drive.

4.  ICYMI: The Dirty Water Brass Band brought the music and the spectators to Dudley Pond on Saturday.

5. Year of Wayland Trivia. Brandeis professor and Wayland resident, David Hackett Fischer, won the Pulitzer Prize in History in 2005.
