What Are The 50 Safest Cities In Massachusetts?
You might recognize a few of the communities dubbed safest by the National Council for Home Safety & Security.

WAYLAND, MA — Safety. It impacts real estate, policing, peace of mind, schools - just about everything within a community. So which are the safest?
Alarms.org published the National Council for Home Safety and Security list of the Safest Cities in Massachusetts 2018. We're going to run the top 50, but you can see the full list here.
Wayland has topped the list again, no surprise. Norfolk, Norton, Sudbury, and Franklin round out the top five. See the full top 50 list below.

Even though the Alarms.org calls it the "safest cities," towns are included, too.
For the survey, the National Council reviewed the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics along with its own population data and internal research. It also eliminated any communities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and removed those with populations with less than 10,000.

The rankings were based on the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people. Massachusetts placed near the national mean in violent crime, with an average of 3.91 violent crimes per 1,000 inhabitants.
