Construction Resuming at Route 27 and 20 Intersection

With a couple of dry days at last ahead in the forecast, crews are set to resume construction on the major intersection in Wayland's town center.

Crews are expected to work overnight Wednesday and Thursday to complete the repaving of the intersection of Route 27 and Route 20.

Wayland Highway Director Stephen Kadlik said crews plan to work from 8 p.m. to about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday night into Thursday and then resume Thursday evening. Kadlik said crews expect to complete the work after another 8 p.m. Thursday night to 5:30 a.m. Friday shift.

Until the repaving is completed, the traffic lights at the intersection are operating on a timer rather than via pavement sensors so some backups are anticipated.
