Couple of Meetings, Moving Books and Sled Dogs in Wayland
A few things you need to know in Wayland for Thursday, Aug. 8.

1. Summer is a slow time for meetings, but Wayland has two tonight: The Permanent Municipal Building Committee will convene at 7 p.m. and the Conservation Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will take place at Wayland Town Building.
2. Remember that the Wayland Public Library will continue its "big move" today. Be patient with the shuffling if you stop by today.
3. Mother Goose Time will take place at the library today as per usual. The storytime geared to infants and toddlers begins at 10:30 a.m.
4. ICYMI. The end of July was big for the Wayland housing market, with lots of homes selling on July 30 and 31. Here's a look at some of what sold.
5. Year of Wayland Trivia. Dr. Roland Lombard, a Wayland veterinarian, was a famous sled dog racer in Alaska, winning the Fur Rendezvous World Championship Sled Dog Race eight times in the 1960s and 1970s. He trained his dogs off Stonebridge Road.
