Police Searching for Man Who Broke Into Wayland Woman's Home

It's the second incident in the same area since December. In this case, the suspect asked the homeowner for water and to use the bathroom.

WAYLAND, MA - A Wayland woman was unharmed Feb. 10 when a man broke into her home near Cochituate Lake at about 8 p.m.

According to police, a woman was sleeping when a man busted through her front door and headed upstairs in her home. When the intruder came back downstairs after finding the upstairs was an unfinished attic space, the homeowner had exited her room and spotted him.

Wayland Det. Sgt. Jamie Berger said the homeowner told police she only saw one man, but police said it’s possible another individual was involved.

The homeowner told police the man asked her for a glass of water and to use her bathroom, both requests she granted before the intruder left.

Police said the man left without taking anything.

This is the second home invasion in the area in the past couple of months in Wayland. The last one occurred on Dec. 17, and the suspect in that break-in is currently on the Massachusetts Most Wanted list (Check out surveillance footage of the suspect).

Berger said police are still looking for tips and information related to the earlier break-in as well as the more recent incident.
