How is Claypit Hill School Performing?

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released its report card of the Claypitt Hill Elementary School.

MCAS Scores

Science: in 2013, the percentage of students scoring proficient or above in MCAS jumped from 78 to 83. Statewide, that figure remained flat at 54.

Math: in 2013, the percentage of students scoring proficient or above in MCAS jumped from 73 to 76. Statewide, that figure jumped from 59 to 62.

English Language Arts: In 2013, the percentage of students scoring proficient or above in MCAS jumped from 76 to 80. Statewide, that figure to 61 from 62.

Progress toward narrowing achievement gap: Students with learning disabilities did not meet the growth target.

Overall, Claypitt Hill School remains a Level 2 school. As a result, the school will continue to give additional support to high needs students and those with learning disabilities, according to a school-wide announcement.  "In addition, grade level teachers are continuing to work together in professional learning communities (PLC's) where they analyze data from across the grade to plan for instruction to reach the learners falling in to the target groups.  The PLC format allows them to work collaboratively with a multi-discipline team including math coaches, reading specialists, special educators, librarian and technology specialists and, when appropriate, speech and language therapists and guidance counselors," principal Debbie Bearse wrote in a school announcement.

-The school and is in the 84th percentile of highest performing schools meaning it performs better than 814percent of the schools statewide.
