Joel Scott Harrison Barnett, 2004 Wayland High Grad

Joel Scott Harrison Barnett passed away Monday at the age of 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home two weeks before.
Barnett was born in Boston and spent his elementary years in school in Mattapan. He then attended Wayland Middle School and graduated from Wayland High School with the class of 2004.
An athlete during his years in Wayland, Barnett played on the middle school basketball team and as a linebacker and full back for the Wayland Warriors football team.
After high school, Barnett attended Bridgewater State University. He worked as an Administrative Assistant for Donelan Construction in Jamaica Plain for several years and most recently was the assistant manager for both the Boston and Faneuil Hall locations of the Boston Tea Party Museum Gift Shop.
Barnett is survived by his parents Loris Jean (White) Barnett and Dwight H. Barnett both of Boston; siblings, Lael H. Barnett and Kalila M. Barnett ,both of Boston, Mallory L. Barnett of Hampton, Va., and Caleb C. Barnett of Norwood. He is also survived by one niece, two nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation and funeral services were held Friday June 28, 2013.
