Police Log: Intoxicated Driver Damages Utility Pole, Mailbox

The following information was supplied by the Wayland Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

A Boston man was arrested in Wayland last week after police say he drove intoxicated and damaged property before crashing his vehicle.

According to a police press release, an officer on patrol noticed a truck parked on the side of Main Street just before 3 a.m. on July 18. Upon investigation, the officer found the front end of the vehicle to be damaged to the point of of being inoperable.

The officer also found the driver, Sean D. O'Sullivan, 24, of 537 Lagrange St. in Boston, to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the press release. 

About a half-mile away from the truck, officers located a damaged utility pole and mailbox as well as parts of the truck scattered on the ground near the damaged property, the press release reads. 

O'Sullivan was arrested and charged with operating under the influence (alcohol), leaving the scene of a property damage accident and a marked lanes violation.

- 11:51 a.m.; 20 Glen Road - Arrest of Jose Cunha, 35, of 85 Broad St. in Marlborough. Following a motor vehicle stop, Cunha was arrested and charged with operating after suspension and operating an unregistered vehicle.

July 21
- 4:55 a.m.; 12 Shawmut Ave. - Arrest of Gregory J. Molina, 23, of 54 Beaver Park Road in Framingham. According to a press release, officers noticed two "suspicious individuals" coming and going from an elderly complex at 106 Main St. The individuals were questioned and identified. 

An investigation revealed that Molina had two active default warrants out of Cambridge District Court. He was arrested on those warrants, which included three counts of larceny from a building, identity fraud, larceny over $250, attempt to commit a crime and improper use of a credit card. Molina was booked and held without bail.

July 20
- 1:36 p.m.; 163 School St. - Caller returned home after several days away to find her mailbox, mail, light post and a real estate sign missing from the end of her driveway. There were no signs of a motor vehicle crash.

July 18
- 9:59 a.m.; 5 Concord Road - Caller reported two dogs in a vehicle at the library with temperatures in the 90s. The owner was spoken with and the situation was rectified.
