UPDATED: Road Closures, Power Outages Plagued Wayland Thursday Morning
High winds caused problems Wednesday night into Thursday, making for a busy day for Wayland's DPW.

WAYLAND, MA -
UPDATE: More than 200 people lost power in Wayland as a result of damaging storms that blew through the area Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
By Thursday evening, power had been restored to all but a couple of Wayland customers, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.

Throughout the day, the Wayland Department of Public Works had its hands full with downed trees and limbs around town. The storm, according to a post on the DPW’s Facebook page, “wreaked havoc” throughout town.

Another week, another round of weather-related issues in Wayland.
The Wayland Police Department announced that Oak Street is closed at Timber Lane due to downed wires. Oak Street is also closed from Pine Street to Route 30 in Natick.
Speaking of Natick, Route 9 had major issues Thursday morning and the major thoroughfare is closed in both directions at the Natick Mall.
As for power outages, 221 Eversource customers in Wayland (about 4 percent of the utility’s Wayland customers) were without power as of 9 a.m.
