Wayland Per Pupil Spending Well Above State Average

When compared to nearby districts, Wayland falls in the middle.

WAYLAND, MA - Wayland spends nearly $2,000 more per pupil than the average school district across the state.

According to State Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) data for the 2013-14 school year (the most recent available), Wayland spent $16,445 per student. That’s an increase of 1.7 percent from the prior year.

The statewide per pupil spending average for the same year was $14,518 with Provincetown investing the most per pupil at $30,626 and East Bridgewater investing the least at $10,293.

When it comes to nearby districts, Wayland comes in at a lower per pupil rate than Weston ($21,653) and Wellesley ($17,108) and above Sudbury ($14,246) and Natick ($13,550).
