Wayland Volunteers Pick Up Tons of Cigarette Butts, Plastic
The event was part of the annual Wayland Cleans Up! event and volunteers braved the rain to participate.

WAYLAND, MA - A group of about 30 volunteers didn't let Saturday's rain stop them from picking up the town's litter, Wicked Local reported.
The Wayland Cleans Up! event was organized by the Wayland Democratic Town Committee, the Wayland Green Team and Transition Wayland, Wicked Local reported.
Volunteers told Wicked Local they saw the most trash along roads that were not in the view of homes and in wooded areas.

“We found hundreds of cigarette butts! People smoke too much,” volunteer Amie Ghosh, 10, told Wicked Local.
Liquor bottles, cans, polystyrene coffee cups and all kinds of plastics were also in abundance, Wicked Local reported.
