Where is the Cheapest Gas in Wayland?

Gas prices in Massachusetts have dropped to the lowest in a decade.

WAYLAND, MA - Massachusetts’ gasoline prices are the lowest they have been in more than a decade and are continuing to drop.

Average regular unleaded gas prices in the state were at $1.89 per gallon Wednesday which is four cents cheaper than prices the week before and 14 cents down from December’s average according to AAA.

The wallet-friendly gas prices of $1.89 are significantly lower than the highest recorded state average of $4.09 on June 15 2008.

According to GasBuddy, Wayland Automotive located at 222 Commonwealth Road currently has the lowest gas in Wayland at $1.79 per gallon. Two other stations in town come in at $1.87 a gallon including: the Sunoco located at 191N. Main St. and Sunoco at 78 Boston Post Road.

Massachusetts average regular unleaded gas prices were seven cents higher than the national average of $1.82 Wednesday. National average gas prices have dropped five cents in the past week and 18 cents in the past month.

AAA reported Monday the average per gallon gasoline price of $1.83 was the lowest seen since January 2009.

“Motorists in just 11 states and Washington, D.C. are paying an average above $2 per gallon. California ($2.67) continues to lead the market, however the resolution of refinery issues in the state has narrowed the difference between the Golden State and second-place Hawaii ($2.63). Regional neighbors Alaska ($2.44), Nevada ($2.34) and Washington ($2.24) round out the top five most expensive markets for retail gasoline. Consumers in Oklahoma ($1.53) and Missouri ($1.54) are paying the nation’s lowest averages at the pump, followed by the Midwestern states of Indiana ($1.55), Ohio ($1.56) and Michigan ($1.59),” AAA wrote on their website.
