Wellesley Police Release 2013 YTD Call Stats

What the Wellesley Police Department has responded to in the last four months.

 

Wonder how Wellesley's finest spent 2013 thus far? Wonder no more!  

The Wellesley Police Department release monthly statistics about many of their activities, including break-ins, arrests and traffic stops. Since January 2013, the Department has arrested 57 people, and responded to 269 vehicle crashes, for example.

Last year's stats, compared to the previous four years' worth of calls and arrests showed a decrease in criminal complaints over the last five years. At this point in the year, it is impossible to say how close to average the rest of 2013 will be.

For context, these are the kinds of numbers a city or town has when it is ranked the 15th safest community nationally.

Note: E-911 hang-up calls are not the total number of calls, just the number of calls where the caller indicated it was not an emergency, or dispatchers had no contact with the caller.
