Aetna was approved for a tax credit of $1.25 million by the Gov. Baker administration

WELLESLEY, MA — Hundreds of new jobs are expected to come to town after Gov. Charlie Baker approved a tax incentive program, which enables a massive expansion for healthcare benefit company, Aetna.

The 80,000 square-foot-expansion is expected to create 250 new jobs in Wellesley, according to a press release from the state’s Economic Development Incentive Program. Aetna was one of six expansion projects approved statewide that Baker said will create over 3,700 jobs across Massachusetts.

According to Baker, the projects allow employers to either relocate or expand in Massachusetts and create jobs in what he described as "high-growth industries."
