Five Things you Need to Know for May 20, 2013 in Needham and Wellesley.

1. We are at a 50-50 chance for rain. The National Weather Service predicts a 50 percent chance of heavy rain during the day--possibly some thunderstorms. But, if not, the day will be partly sunny. A 40 percent chance of same in the evening. Temperatures will range between 80ºF and 58ºF.

4. The Man in the Red Suspenders himself, Roger Swain of Victory Garden fame is coming to speak at the Beth Shalom Garden Club meeting tonight. 15 year veteran PBS host is coming to speak with the gardeners at 7 p.m. tonight at Needham's Temple Beth Shalom.

5. There, the Needham Free Public Library probes whether there could be some good coming out of the risks of climate change. A presentation entitled Rising Water: Transforming Climate Risk into Opportunity will discuss Boston’s comprehensive climate action plan, and some of the green innovations coming to the area. Talk starts at 7 p.m.
