9 From Wellesley HS Earn Globe 2018 Spring All-Scholastic Honors
Two Wellesley residents who attend private schools also received the honor.

WELLESLEY, MA — The spring season was a good time for the athletes of Wellesley.
Nine Wellesley High School students and two residents who attend private schools were named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team. The season honor recognizes the area's best high school athletes.
Below are the local recipients, according to the Globe:

From Wellesley High School
Boys' Lacrosse

- Michael Bomes, senior - Earned 213 career points and 149 goals. Will play for Denison University next year.
Girls' Lacrosse
- Maddy Balter, junior - Has racked up 182 goals, including 73 this season. Has committed to Northwestern.
- Caitlin Chicoski, senior - Heads to Stanford after scoring 75 goals and 20 assists.
- Michelle Cook, Division 1 Coach of the Year - Has a 70-16-1 record across four seasons and helped lead the team to a Division 1 championship.
Boys Tennis
- Alex Novins, senior - The South sectional individual tournament finalist posted a record of 12-5 this season. He will attend Bentley in the fall.
Girls' Golf
- Emma Cieslik, junior - Finished in the top three at the state championship for the third year.
Girls' Track and Field
- Abby Comella, sophomore - Pleased first in the 400 at the All-State meet and was a member of the state-champion 4x400 team.
- Anna Jordahl-Henry, junior - Captured the school record in the 100, 200, and high jump while taking first place in all three events at the All-State meet. Was a member of the state-champion 4x400 team.
- The 4x400 team (Jojo Kennedy, Abby Comella, Anna Jordahl-Henry and Charlotte Freniere) - Won the state title with a school record time of 3:51.6.
Private School Students
Girls' Track and Field
- Kaitlin Kolb, freshman at the Winsor School - Won the 100 hurdles and long jump at the EIL Championship. Also was a member of the league-winning 4x100 relay team.
Baseball
- Billy Seidl - junior at St. Sebastian's - Went 7-0 on the pitcher's mound with a .58 ERA and 63 strikeouts. He has committed to Duke.
