William Bennett to Receive The Quarter Century Circle Award

Wellesley College’s Senior Development Officer recognized for years of service

Boston, Mass. – William Bennett, Senior Development Officer at Wellesley College, will be honored at this year’s Distinguished Service and Recognition Awards Reception, an annual program of District I of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), to be held in the evening on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Quarter Century Circle Award honors those who have completed 25 years of service for non-profit organizations in the professions encompassed by CASE. 

Bennett has been a senior development officer at Wellesley College since June 2010. And he has been in the advancement profession since his graduation from college in 1987. He spent 18 years at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, serving as alumni director, director of the annual fund, and interim vice-president for advancement, and was director of the annual fund at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

He is active in CASE and AFP and received the Carol and Stephen Hebert Award for Outstanding Service to CASE District I in 2004 and served as conference chair for the CASE District I Conference in Boston in 2001, as well as co-chair for the 2002 conference held in Quebec City, Canada. He served on the District I board from 2000 to 2006 and has been a speaker at several CASE and AFP conferences. Bennett also served as a faculty member for the CASE Summer Institute for Alumni Relations in 2005. This year, he is chairing the New Advancement Professionals track for the District I Conference.

Bennett is the president of his neighborhood association in the Cedarwood neighborhood in Waltham. He received his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987, his master's in public administration from Clark University in 1997, and his CFRE in 2010.

Each year, CASE District I recognizes outstanding individual contributions to education through volunteer leadership and professional achievement with six awards. Nominations are sought from throughout the membership, and recipients are honored at a reception during the District I Annual Conference.
