Baby Formula Theft, Drug Possession: Wellesley Police Log

July 16

10:41 a.m. - Officer Hughes spoke to a resident from Washington Street about an identity theft incident. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.

5:22 p.m. - Officer Wall was dispatched to Roche Bros Supermarket for a report of two men who had shoplifted some items from the store and left. The men were seen entering a Nissan Altima with New Jersey plates. A review of the store’s video surveillance showed the two men place containers of Similac Baby formula into a backpack. The value of the baby formula is $336. The incident is under investigation.

July 17

9:01 a.m. - Officer Kane was dispatched to Hastings Street for a report of an unregistered car on the property in violation of a town bylaw. The owner of the vehicle was advised of the violation and has 30 days to remove or register the vehicle.

10:15 a.m. - Officer Lindelof was on patrol in the area of Bethel Road when he observed a Chevrolet van and queried the vehicle’s registration. The query showed that the registration was suspended and the owner’s license was also suspended. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator and owner, Roberto Rosa, and requested his license and registration. Officer Lindelof spoke to Rosa who indicated he had received notification from the registry of motor vehicles that his license was going to be suspended and he was aware that his insurance had lapsed. He was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and transported to Dedham District Court.

10:55 p.m. - Officer Dixon was on patrol on Worcester Street near Lantern Lane when he observed an Infiniti sedan and conducted a random query of the vehicle’s registration. The query showed that the registered owner did not have a valid driver’s license. He stopped the vehicle and spoke with the operator, Dwayne Johnson. A query of Johnson’s information showed that his license was suspended. Johnson was taken into custody, transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on $300 bail. While conducting a motor vehicle inventory two prescription pill bottles without labels on them were located in the vehicle. One of the containers contained Hydrocodone pills which Johnson did not have a prescription for.
