If you can't make it to the Wellesley Farmers Market, it can come to you.
New for this year, Your Farmstand an online ordering system, which allows customers to order from the vendors who will be at the Market, according to an announcement. Customers can order food to pick up at the market, or to be delivered to their homes.

Patch caught up with Farmers Market Spokesperson John Spencer, at last week's Market to learn more about the service.
"The idea is, if you can't make it to the market," Spencer said, "we want you to have no excuses."

Customers can pay with PayPal, and order from not only the vendors coming to the market, but from some who are not actually present. Drumlin Farms, for example, is committed to another market this year, but still has a number of items available online. Healthy Habits Kitchen is also available online.
Spencer calls the system "nicely thought-out." He explained that, because Your Farmstand hangs onto the money until delivery is made, it is possible to refund the money if either the vendor or the customer misses the market.
The Your Farmstand platform charges vendors for service fees, and not customers. There is a small delivery fee of $5 to have it sent to your house.
"What's the catch? I don't think I know the answer yet," Spencer added.
According to a video from the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, the program began in Charlotte, Vermont. A group of residents built the site to fill a lack of a central farmers market in the area. Wellesley is one of two Massachusetts towns listed on the site, which has listings in Cambridge-Somerville as well.
The Farmers Market opens on Thursdays in the Whole Foods parking lot, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Online ordering is available at the YourFarmstand.com website.
