7:31 a.m. - Officer Amalfi spoke to a male reporting party who stated that he had rode his bicycle to the Recycling and Disposal Facility and that while he was there someone had taken the bike. He had not locked the bike and was unsure who may have taken it.
6:30 p.m. - Officer Dixon was stopped at a traffic light on Worcester Street and observed a BMW sedan without a front license plate. He conducted a query of the vehicle’s registration which showed the registration came back to a Range Rover. He stopped the vehicle on Worcester Street near Route 128 and to speak with the operator, 25-year-old Mandell Johnson of Newton. While approaching the vehicle Officer Dixon observed that Johnson had an object in his right hand and observed him place the object between his right leg and the center console. A query of the vehicle identification number showed that the BMW was not registered or insured. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle Officer Dixon located a small unlabeled plastic pill bottle between the center console and driver seat. The bottle contained marijuana, Trazodone and Oxycodone. Johnson did not possess a prescription for Trazodone or Oxycodone and indicated that he did not take any prescription medications. He was taken into custody and charged with possession of Class B and E drugs, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, number plate violation to conceal ID, and missing license plate. Johnson was transported to the station, booked in the usual manner, afforded all rights and later released on $250 bail.
