Staff Celebrates 10th Year of National Recognition as a Top Performing Skilled Nursing Facility (Elizabeth Seton Residence)

The Elizabeth Seton Residence, a leading skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in the Greater Boston area, has been recognized as a “Best Nursing Home” for 2021-2022 by U.S. News & World Report. This is the tenth consecutive year the Elizabeth Seton Residence has earned top honors.

“We are very pleased to be recognized as one of the top skilled nursing facilities not only in Massachusetts, but on a national level,” said Lori Ferrante, Administrator of the Elizabeth Seton Residence. “Earning this special designation in both the “short term rehabilitation” and “long term care” categories is a testament to our skilled and compassionate staff, our strong commitment to excellence and our dedication as an organization to provide the highest caliber of care possible.”

Of over 15,000 eligible skilled nursing facilities throughout the country, fewer than 2000 were recognized in even one category. The Elizabeth Seton Residence earned “Best Nursing Home” status in both short term rehabilitation and long-term care categories by achieving the ultimate rating of “High Performing” in all areas. U.S. News awards the designation of “Best Nursing Home” only to those homes that satisfy U.S. News’ assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures. Staff vaccination rate was a new quality measure this year. As nursing homes across the country continue to grapple with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s important for residents, families and caregivers to understand the short and long term care options in their community.

“This year’s recognition is particularly meaningful as we continue to be challenged by the pandemic in a multitude of ways,” said Ferrante. “I am grateful to our staff who have persevered, and continue providing the best care possible for our patients and residents.”
