As a selectboard member, Tom Ulfelder has taken action to help Wellesley reach its greenhouse gas reduction goal (50% by 2030, 75% by 2040 and net zero by 2050). Since 63% of the emissions in Wellesley are buildings, Tom's efforts to secure the commitment for net zero ready construction of the Hardy and Hunnewell schools, as well as building electric units at the Nines are significant. This is not an expertise he came to the board with, but he has built relationships, done his homework and worked collaboratively to get these important tasks done. Electrifying municipal and commercial buildings is inspiring residents to take actions to reduce their emissions as well. I hope you will join me in supporting Tom’s re-election on March 7th.
