Letter to the Editor for Craig Mack

Open Letter by Jacqueline, Caroline, Grace and Madison Mack - Vote 3/1/22

Throughout our lives, we have been told how lucky we are to have Craig as our dad, and how loved he is by everyone around him. We are so fortunate to have grown up with him as a role model. Our dad has embodied what it means to be a supportive husband, loving father, and a kind person. He is always the first one to jump right in to help a family member, a friend or a neighbor in need. He challenges us constantly to be empathetic and teaches us how to understand and recognize our privilege, as well as how to help others. He is always more than happy to share how proud he is of us when others inevitably ask the unnecessary question of how he deals with having four daughters.
The importance of education is a value we have grown up with and one our father has modeled all throughout our lives. We were fortunate to attend his graduation when he received his doctorate after seven years of working full-time, being an active parent, and going to his graduate school classes every weekend. We have been able to see our dad in action “at work” during the pandemic and it has given us great insight as to what he does on a daily basis. He is a fierce advocate for the students at his institution, working hard to ensure that their academic, social and emotional experiences are strong and healthy. He is also a champion of the educational process holding faculty and staff to high expectations as they serve their student population. We are most appreciative of his constant advocacy and commitment to diversity and equity which he models both in his work and daily life, and we are grateful to have grown up with these guiding values. the varying ways he tries to ensure this is a priority for his institution.
We are so proud of our dad and grateful that he is running for school committee to advocate for our fellow WPS students, staff, and community members. Local elections are so important; please do your research and engage in your civic duty! We encourage you to learn more about him at his website: craigmackforwps.com and to vote for Craig Mack on March 1st!

Thank you!
Jacqueline, Caroline, Grace and Madison Mack
