New York Arrest, Identity Theft: Wellesley Police Log

The following is from the Wellesley Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

April 25

8:56 a.m. - Officer Griffin spoke with a man who stated on April 23 around 9:30 p.m., his wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker at the Boston Sports Club. He stated that the wallet contained cash, credit cards and his driver’s license. Officer Griffin is investigating.

April 26

9:05 a.m. - Officer Cunningham responded to the Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch, New York to take custody of Samuel Santana for two warrants that had been issued for his arrest by Dedham District Court and Norfolk Superior Court. He waived rendition and was transported to Norfolk Superior Court to for a warrant for document forgery, possession/use of a false/stolen motor vehicle document and attempt to commit a crime.

10:27 a.m. - Officer Popovski spoke with a woman who stated that her father inadvertently disposed of a bag that contained his passport on April 17. She was advised to have him contact the State Department and to request a replacement passport.

12:15 p.m. - Officer Rosenberg was dispatched to the Wellesley High School to speak with a Babson College student who indicated that on April 24, his debit card and other personal items were stolen from the Webster Athletic Center while he was working out and a pizza order had been made and delivered to Wellesley High School using his stolen debit card. Officer Rosenberg is investigating the incident.

2:54 p.m. - Officer Lindelof was dispatched to Fiske Road to speak with a resident regarding an internet scam. The report is incomplete at this time and no further information is available.

April 27

2:10 p.m. - Officer R. Poirier was dispatched to Woodlawn Cemetery to assist a motorist who had attempted to turn around on an unpaved portion of the property and their vehicle got stuck in the mud. The duty tow was able to move the vehicle. The caretaker of the cemetery indicated that site work to prevent water run off had recently been completed and the vehicle may have damaged this work. He indicated he would evaluate the property for damage.


April 28

12:50 a.m. - Officer Knapp was dispatched to the area of Larch Road for a report of an drunk man who would not get into a family members car. While responding to the area the caller indicated that the man had gotten into the vehicle and the reporting party disconnected their call with the emergency communication center. Officer Knapp then encountered them on Willow Road at Lawrence Road and learned that the man had invited a few friends to his residence while his parents were out and he had consumed alcohol. When the parents returned, they yelled at the youth and he then left the house to go to a friend’s house. The reporting party stated she would discuss the incident with her son in the morning.

7:50 a.m. - Officer D’Innocenzo was dispatched to the police station to speak with a resident about identity theft. The woman indicated that someone had used her credit card to purchase gasoline and phone cards. The woman had been in contact with the bank, cancelled the card and was issued a new card and credit for the charges. Officer D’Innocenzo is investigating.
