Alan Arthur Hemberger, 65, formerly of Wellesley, passed away Oct. 20, 2013 in Chatham.
Alan was born March 1, 1948 to John and Grace Hemberger in Trenton, N.J., and grew up in Wellesley.
Alan served his country in Vietnam. After returning to the States, he finished his bachelor's degree at Emerson College in Boston. It was in Boston that he met Jane Kochman, and they were married for 39 years.
He worked all over the country for his career as a newscaster, mostly as a television anchorman. Alan was an avid Boston sports fan. He also loved all kinds of music, especially Elvis Presley. After retirement, he fulfilled a life-long dream by moving to Cape Cod, his favorite place on earth since childhood.
Alan is survived by Jane and their five children, Ahren Hemberger, Christian Hemberger and his wife Laura, Corey Hemberger, John Hemberger and his fiancée Amber Smith and Daniel Hemberger and his wife Brittany; his grandchildren Spencer, Jett and Rebekah, with another grandson on the way; his brothers Richard Hemberger his and wife Mary Lou and William Hemberger and his wife Susan; and his several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
