Jeannette D. (DeBoer) Chalmers, 90, of Whitinsville, formerly of Wellesley, passed away Nov. 2, 2013 at St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville.
She was the wife of the late Harold V. Chalmer who died in 1995.
Mrs. Chalmers was born Nov. 11, 1922 in Wellesley, the daughter of the late Gerben and Sena (Postma) DeBoer. She was a graduate of Milford High School.
Jeannette grew up in Milford and was a summer resident of West Island. She spent her last 23 years in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. before returning to Whitinsville. She was a member of the Dutch International Social, loved cooking, needle working and spending time with her friends.
Jeannette was employed at the Fenwal Company in Ashland for many years before her retirement. She previously worked for various hat shops in both Milford and Upton, also Dr. Allen in his office and home.
Her family thanks her friends and staff at St. Camillus Health Center for the care she received.
Jeannette is survived by her two daughters, Pamela Church of Fall River and Linda R. Cassavant of Whitinsville; four grandchildren, Jessica Gray of Ashburn, Va., Melissa Cassavant of Whitinsville, Scott Church of Bellingham and Stacy Lanser of Salcha, Alaska; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, Mina DeVries, Sidney DeBoer, Martin DeBoer and Henry DeBoer.
A memorial service will be held at St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA 01588, Thursday, Nov. 14 at 11 a.m. Graveside service will be at North Purchase Street Cemetery, Milford.
