Virginia Baker Drogue, 89, of Marblehead, formerly of Francestown, N.H., passed at her home after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease Nov. 1, 2013.
She was the wife of the late Walter "Jerry" Drogue of Marblehead.
Ginny was a graduate of North Quincy High School and later a Davis Scholar at Wellesley College. She worked for many years at the Boston law firms of Choate Hall and Stewart and Hemenway & Barnes in the trust department as a tax accountant where she mentored many young attorneys in the area of trust administration. An avid investor, golfer and traveler, Ginny was always up for the adventure. She was a longtime member of the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead.
Ginny is survived by her sister Elaine B. Plakias of Duxbury; her three nieces, Alexandra, Anastasia and Lydia Plakias; and her four nephews Christopher, Mark, Dean and Justin Plakias.
Visiting hours will be held at Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St., Marblehead Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. A private graveside service will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ginny's memory to the Walter G. Drogue Fund at The Boston Athenaeum, 10 ½ Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02108.
