Oh My: Remember Our Freakishly Early Snowstorm This Time Last Year?

October is usually a time for warm-ish days and apple cider, leaf peeping and raking.

Not snow.

But a year ago, on Oct. 29, 2011, Sudbury and other local towns were hit with a dehabilitating wet snowstorm.

Parts of Wellesley were blanketed with six inches of snow, and while were without power in Sudbury, Wayland, Framingham, Acton and surrounding towns, the Wellesley Municipal Light Plant restored what power was lost in Wellesley within 24 hours of the storm.

Where were you when last year's snow-tober storm hit? It was the weekend before Halloween, so many trick-or-treating events and travel plans were stymied. Some people stayed indoors, while others lost power and had to seek warmth at emergency shelters.

Meanwhile, here's hoping Tropical Storm Sandy doesn't cause a repeat performance if it hits New England in these final days of October.
