Painting Place Moving To Wellesley
The Kid's Place is changing its name to the Painting Place, so it can expand its audience to college students, other adults, and children.
WELLESLEY, MA — Needham art studio, The Kid's Place offered painting, pottery, and more art-based activities to kids for almost two decades. The studio needs to relocate after it was announced that the building at 15 Highland Place will be torn down.
Although the Kid's Place is losing their lease, owner Samara Helfman said she is moving the business to Wellesley and using this as an opportunity to re-brand. The Kid's Place is changing its name to the Painting Place, so it can expand its audience to adults and college students, as well as children.
"The rebranding is the positive I’m taking from the negative of losing my current lease..." Helfman said, "We’re going to focus on both kids and adults instead of primarily kids."

Helfman told patch she wants people to know the kid's activities are still a bigger part of what the Painting Place does. She went to school for child psychology and said working with children will always be a passion.
The Painting Place will move to 380R Washington St., and hopes to open at the beginning of March.
