Police Arrest Wellesley Man On Child Sex Trafficking Charges

Police say Nicholas Cristoforo, 26, promised marijuana to minors in exchange for sex.

WELLESLEY, MA —East Bridgewater police arrested and charged a man on multiple human trafficking charges Wednesday night.

Nicholas Cristoforo, 26, of Wellesley, was charged with three counts of trafficking a person under 18 for sexual servitude, three counts of electronic enticement of a child for human trafficking, distribution of material of a nude child, and posing a child in a sexual act.

On Tuesday, December 14, Detective Cecelia Cacciatore launched an investigation involving a minor who had received inappropriate messages on social media.

In her investigation, she found Cristoforo had communicated with two juveniles from East Bridgewater and extorted sexually explicit material from them through threats as well as promises of money and drugs.

Posing as a juvenile on an undercover account, Cacciatore engaged with Cristoforo, claiming to be a friend of one of the two. A meeting was set up at a predetermined location and Cristoforo agreed to give marijuana in exchange for sex.

East Bridgewater police officers got to the location early and set up in unmarked cars before Cristoforo got there.

Once he arrived, Cristoforo told Cacciatore he was there and was immediately approached by police.

He was taken from his car and placed under arrest after it was confirmed that his phone had been receiving the messages sent to arrange the meeting.

Cristoforo was arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court. He is being held for up to 90 days with bail set at $30,000. If released, he will be required to wear a GPS tracker and not enter the Town of East Bridgewater and have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
