Power to $ave Hits 60% of Goal

Wellesley's Sustainable Energy Committee aims to bring no-cost assessments to 400 homes, and is two-thirds of the way there.

Residents have the power to make Wellesley a little greener, and get it closer to one of its goals.

According to an announcement on the Town website, the Power to $ave program is about 60% of the way to its goal of 400 homes signed up for no-cost energy assessments.

The campaign launched in the latter half of March, and hit one-third of its goal in April. Within the first two weeks of the campaign, 140 homeowners had signed up for the no-cost assessments out of the Sustainable Energy Committee (SEC)'s goal. A board charting the campaigns progress is on display at theWellesley Free Library.

Power to Save follows up from last year's initiative the Power to Choose program, for which over 1,000 Wellesley residents volunteered to be a part. All three of the colleges in Wellesley also signed on to that campaign.
