The equipment is still optical scanning technology, so paper ballots are read by the machine. Voters will be required to fill in the oval to the right of the candidate name and then feed the ballot into the machine for reading and tabulation.The Town of Wellesley asks that voters be patient because the machine takes about four seconds to record the ballot and notify the voter that the ballot has been accepted.
