Road Rage, The Mail Piles Up: Wellesley Police Log

The following is from the Wellesley Police Log. Arrests and charges mentioned don't imply conviction.

April 30

10:15 a.m. - Officer Joseph was dispatched to a residence for a well-being check due to mail being uncollected at the residence. The house was secure and the postal worker indicated the mail had not been picked up in over a week. Officer Joseph was unable to determine if anyone was inside the residence. The fire department was able to open a door and it was determined that nobody was home. The postal worker took possession of the mail and left a note for the homeowner and the house was secured.

2:36 p.m. - Officer Kane spoke with a man regarding an attempted scam involving an item he had listed for sale on Craigslist. An unknown party had contacted the reporting party and indicated he would purchase the item and send payment via check. Once the check was received it was for a different amount and the unknown buyer requested that the reporting party cash the check and give the difference to the mover when he picked up the boat. The reporting party made contact via text message with the buyer and cancelled the sale. There was no financial loss and no suspects.

5:00 p.m. - Officer Dixon spoke with a woman who wished to report a violation of a no contact order issued to another woman by the Framingham District Court. She stated that the woman saw her in a parking lot and began yelling at her and spat on her motor vehicle several times. Officer Dixon notified the individual’s probation officer of the incident and will forward the report to him.

7:50 p.m. - Officer Dixon responded to an apartment building on River Street for a noise complaint. While waiting for someone to open the door to the apartment building he observed a man exit the property who is not allowed on the property as a condition of his probation. Officer Dixon advised the man that his probation officer would be notified of the violation.

May 1

9:43 a.m. - Officer Kane was dispatched to Sprague Road for a report of vandalism to the sidewalk and tree lawn area in front of the residence. He indicated that some large trucks were parked there from April 6 through April 14 and that the trucks damaged the tree lawn and sidewalk. He was advised that the area that was damaged is town property and the appropriate parties would be notified.

2:08 p.m. - Officer Kane was dispatched to a residence on Worcester Street for a report of a potential past breaking and entering. A woman stated that a broken pane of glass had been removed from the door and that several items in the house had been moved. The woman indicated that there should not have been anyone in the house. Officers checked the exterior of the house which was secure. The woman was advised to contact the police if anything was discovered to be missing.


May 2

Sgt. Gallagher assisted the Weston Police Department with an investigation by assisting them with a fingerprint analysis, comparison and evaluation for a larceny case they were investigating that had occurred in their town.

11:00 a.m. - Officer Hughes was dispatched to a residence on Oakdale Avenue for a report of a past road rage incident which ended with the reporting party being struck in the face by the other involved party. After speaking with the reporting party Officer Hughes was able to make contact with the other involved party who indicated that the reporting party had assaulted him and he struck him in defense. Both parties were advised they could request a criminal complaint at Dedham District Court on their own if they wished to do so.
